Imre Polyák


Imre Polyák (16 April 1932 in Kecskemét – 15 November 2010) was a Hungarian wrestler and Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling.
==Career==
Polyák received medals in four consecutive Olympics. He competed at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo where he received a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling, the ''featherweight'' class.〔("1964 Summer Olympics – Tokyo, Japan – Wrestling" ) ''databaseOlympics.com'' (Retrieved on September 2, 2008)〕 He received silver medals in 1952, 1956 and 1960.
He won the World Wrestling Championships in 1955, 1958 and 1962. He was named Hungarian Sportsman of the year in 1958 and 1962. In 1958 he became the first sportsman granted this award.
